In February of this year, President Obama announced his intent to nominate Dr. Jane Chu as Chair of the National Endowment for the Arts, a position that has been vacant for more than a year. On June 12th, 2014, she was unanimously confirmed by the Senate.

The Independent Sector, a nonpartisan leadership network for non-profits and corporations, organized a letter to urge the Ways and Means House Committee to make three expired “tax extenders” permanent. The Americans for the Arts Action Fund signed the letter.
