Today, the National Endowment for the Arts released a statement that Jane Chu will end her post as chairman on June 4, 2018. Ms. Chu was appointed as the eleventh chairman of the agency in 2014 by President Barack Obama. During her tenure, the NEA saw multiple-year increases to the its Congressional budget appropriation, especially to expand its military healing arts initiative, Creative Forces.

In response to the news, President and CEO of the Arts Action Fund Bob Lynch remarked, “It has been a distinct honor to work with Jane Chu for the past four years. She has been the ideal leader and partner in working toward accomplishing access to all of the arts for all Americans. My gratitude and heartfelt thank you to Jane for her vision, inspiration, leadership, and all that she has done for... the field. I wish her all the best and look forward to future opportunities working together in service to the arts.”

The Americans for the Arts Action Fund is grateful to Ms. Chu for all she has done throughout her tenure, and wishes her the best in future endeavors.
