President Obama’s Art Works Contest

Posted on: Oct 12, 2011

The Obama for America campaign is accepting poster submissions through November 4th from American artists illustrating why they support his American Jobs Act. Posters should address either overall themes of the plan, or highlight a specific issue or cause related to job creation, such as small business or highway construction.

Submitted works will be adjudicated in-house by the Obama campaign. The Campaign will select twelve (12) finalists; those twelve (12) will then be placed on the Obama for America web site and put to a popular vote. The top three finalists will be selected to receive a copy of their poster framed and signed by President Obama.

Finalists will be chosen according to these parameters: adherence to theme, tone conveying determination and strength, creativity, and quality of workmanship. The posters can be graphic, typographic, illustrated, collage, or photographic - if taken by the artists. Finally, all submitted posters must include the URL www.barackobama.com/jobsplan.

The Obama campaign has provided several suggested slogans. Some of these include “Fighting for Jobs”, “Get America back to work”, “Made in the USA”, “Hire America’s veterans”, “Ask millionaire and billionaires to pay their fair share”, and “We believe in the American dream”. The submitting artist is also free to use their own slogan. For more information, complete contest rules, sample posters, and the campaign’s detailed creative brief visit www.my.barackobama.com/page/s/artworks-submission.
