Arts Action Fund 2022 Arts Policy Vote

On March 29, 2022, the board of directors of the Americans for the Arts Action Fund (Arts Action Fund) voted unanimously to ratify the membership-endorsed 2022 Arts Policy Vote Platform. Prior to the board vote, the AAF membership had been casting votes on the platform positions below for six weeks. Based on the membership voting overwhelmingly in favor of the platform, the board of directors adopted the policies as its legislative agenda for the year. One, Promote federal legislation that advances the creative economy, broader arts education policies, and racial equity. TWO, Encourage the White House to re-establish or create a cultural advisory body, such as the President’s Committee on the Arts & Humanities, to advise on economic and domestic policy issues. THREE, Establish a path to double funding for the NEA and NEH by indexing them each to $1 per person, currently funded at only 50 cents per person. FOUR, Secure economic relief funds to assist arts and cultural organizations and self-employed gig artists to recover from the ongoing economic fallout of the pandemic.
